I came looking for a hot spring while waiting to board the ferry from Hakodate.
There was also a hot spring and sauna available for 480 yen, so I took a relaxing soak and hurried back in time for the ferry departure.
The concrete building is stylish and doesn't look like a public bath, and the background music is nostalgic hit songs.
It has a relaxing washing area, an open-air bath where you can enjoy the difference in temperature, and is conveniently located near the city center.
Kitamihara Onsen
This is one of Hakodate's proud hot spring public baths. The hot water was extremely hot and I was too selective about who entered it (lol)
The bathroom has a high ceiling and is open, and you can use the sauna for the basic fee.Access by bus
It's a little inconvenient, but the woman at the reception is nice and I recommend it.
The source temperature around Hakodate is high, but it felt especially hot here.
It is a hot spring public bath that we can recommend with confidence as there are many washing areas.
The parking lot is large and can accommodate about 70 cars. A system where you buy from the ticket vending machine at the entrance. Leave your shoes in a free locker.
In the changing room, there are about 60 lockers with keys that do not require coins.
There are 28 washing areas, all of which do not have mixing faucets. There are 1 indoor bath, 1 high temperature bath, 1 low temperature bath, 1 outdoor bath, 1 cold bath, 2 cold baths, and an unusual foot shower at the entrance.
The sauna is a dry sauna that can accommodate about 5 people and has a temperature of 90℃. There is a rest area and free Wi-Fi.
One hair dryer costs 30 yen for 3 minutes.
Is it a little hot?

Because the temperature is high, after lowering it with a cooling device.
Add water appropriately.
It can be said that it is almost like flowing directly from the source.
There is no shampoo or soap provided, so prepare as needed.
Hot water, lukewarm water, open-air bath, cascading bath, sauna available
There are parking lots around the facility.
Bathing fee Adult ¥480 Child ¥140
No shampoo, body soap, etc.
There is a locker for valuables.
This is an old-fashioned public bath. We were surprised to see a reviewer say, ``I was surprised to see the woman at the reception desk reading a book or using her cell phone!'' The uncles and aunties at the counter were reading newspapers, eating mandarin oranges, and chatting with the neighbors. That's what it is, isn't it? This is the generation that thinks so. LOL Is it possible that the hot springs in Hakodate have a higher source? There are many hot springs. In the past, regular customers would get mad if you added water! What a hot spring too. . . There is also a high-temperature bath, but there were no people who seemed to be regulars taking it. I tried it out, but it wasn't that hot. Well, it's good to soak for a while at a suitable temperature. Even after taking a bath, you won't sweat for a while. The water was nice.
This is a privately operated hot spring facility similar to a public bath.
The indoor bath has high and low temperatures, an open-air bath, a sauna, and a cold bath.
The water bath is small. There is no TV in the sauna, but popular songs are playing. Popular songs from the 1970s to 1990s are played, so when you hear nostalgic songs, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time (o^^o)
This hot spring is also drinkable.
I don't know how effective it is, but the taste isn't bad. It's hot, so be careful not to burn yourself when drinking it.
